Dragonflies (2008)

This dream I had on April 3, 2008. Recorded in my "dreams and visions" journal.

I found myself in a dense plush meadow. Lots of brightly colored flowers, moss covered stones, soft ferns, vines climbing tall trees, and a meandering gentle stream flows to one side. Even a few rays of sunlight sneak through the dense canopy to create a glow.

As I was looking around I saw a very plump, red fox staring at me from a thick patch of foliage. Before I could study him, I started getting surrounded by dragonflies of all colors, sizes and sorts. They flew around me as if they were studying me. One large dragonfly which was deep blue seemed to be the "leader". No dragonfly would land on me; except, the blue one.

The bright blue dragonfly at first landed upon my shoulder, like a parrot. Then she flew off and circled my body as if she were checking me out. After her surveillance of me, she hovered directly in front of my face, eye to eye. I knew at this point there was a bond. Almost as soon as I felt the gained trust, she darted forward and grabbed my bottom lip. I felt no need to fend her off. She held on tight and then raised her long tail and struck my lip with a dual needled like hit. The punctures were painless, but I felt and tasted the blood dripping out. She immediately flew off.

Drops of my blood fell upon the forests floor. I stood still as drops fell and eventually formed a small puddle. The giant blue dragonfly returned. She landed in my blood puddle and lifted her tail and began dropping tiny eggs into the puddle. Within seconds she flew off again. As I observed the puddle of blood adorned with eggs, instantly small dragonflies began flying out. All sorts of beautiful colors and patterns.

All these small dragonflies surrounded me, landing on me and taking off. The swarm seem to be non-stop. Thousands upon thousands sprung forth. They flew off throughout the forest. The forest was teeming with new colors and patterns. I then awoke abruptly. The clock said 3:33am and I was awake.
